Long Term Weight Loss – Maintaining a Healthier You
Many people are under the false impression that it is nearly impossible to maintain weight loss. However, long term weight loss is actually quite achievable. Although it does require a continuous effort on your part. To maintain weight loss you will need to continue eating healthy and exercising regularly. It has been estimated through research that about 80% of individuals that have lost weight actually put some weight back on. That leaves a small 20% that are successful at keeping control over their weight. However, these findings were in individuals that were studied for one year and lost a minimum of 10% of their original body weight. There is a registry called the National Weight Control Registry which gives methods and suggestions for taking off the pounds and keeping them off. The majority of the people that have reported back to the registry have reported a continuous diet and vigorous exercise regimen even after the desired weight was achieved. The level of exercise that the majority of individuals continued was fairly high, generally about an hour each day. They also limited their portions of foods and ate healthy meals and snacks regularly. They stuck to the original diet plan they set for themselves when they were over weight. By doing this they were able to keep their metabolic rate elevated and continue burning calories. As time passes the hardest part also passes. Watching what you eat and exercising becomes a second nature to you. No longer will you have to struggle to motivate yourself to exercise. Temptation on the other hand doesn’t go away as easily. You will still be tempted to eat those treats during the holidays. It is acceptable to eat snacks from time to time. Just be sure it is only on occasion instead of daily. Obesity is a serious health concern and should be addressed. An obese person has a higher risk of diabetes, high cholesterol and heart related problems to name but a few. Losing the weight can increase energy, self esteem and lower health related issues. With proper diet and exercise you can also successfully control cholesterol and hypertension. Your entire being can be restored when you take control of your life back. No one says it will be easy, but it will be worth it. Continue working hard to keep yourself healthy and achieve long term weight loss. After you make the one year mark you will be likely to be able to continue maintaining the desired weight for years to come, as long as you continue eating right and exercising you can do it. All it takes is dedication and devotion.

Fasting And Weight Loss – The Facts
Many people are willing to try almost anything to lose a few pounds. Miracle cures abound, and the attention given to obesity in the media means that many people are scrambling to try out the latest thing. The search for the ultimate weight loss program continues, and turning to fasting, unfortunately, is not it.Over the short term, you can lose weight by not eating – it’s a simple matter of calories – if you don’t consume any calories, your body will take the energy it needs from the fat inside your body. Whoo-hoo, you may think, but it doesn’t work as simply as that. If you do not provide your body with enough calories, it is true that the body will automatically get its calories from elsewhere – like the fat you have already accumulated. But it will also get those calories from other vital organs like your liver and kidneys, and even start to breakdown your muscles, leaving you weak and fatigued.Fasting is basically the deprivation of food and liquids into your body. We need food and liquids in order to survive. It is our fuel – you would not expect your car to work if you didn’t put any gasoline in it. The first thing that goes is the water inside your body – you immediately think that you have lost weight, but in actual fact all you have lost is some water. Take a drink of water and you put the weight back on again. There are many reasons why fasting is NOT the way to lose weight:• It slows down your metabolism – your ability to process foods into energy diminishes and it can be very difficult to get back up again. This means that in the longer term, you will actually gain weight rather than lose it.• Fasting is not safe – if you have any medical condition, fasting can exacerbate it. You may not be aware of any medical conditions before you embark on a fasting regime, but they will quickly become apparent when you start fasting – not least because you will have a very weakened immune system.• When we fast, our bodies automatically go into what is referred to “starvation mode”. This is a pre-programmed instinct designed to help us through times of food shortage. If you do not eat enough food, your body will store up any food it does get in order to keep you alive should the food shortage continue.Weight loss can be achieved quickly and effectively without fasting. Reviewing your diet and calorie intake, along with a regular exercise routine can significantly reduce your chances of losing weight, without the very real dangers of weight-loss through fasting. Now what if we could show you a system of eating and very specific short training techniques which is so different from anything else you’ve ever seen before and has already proven to have helped over 33,189 others, plus you’ll see a total ‘permanent’ change in your body within 2 months from today?
